![]() ![]() My calling it a desert-island instrument isn't to suggest that it's the best of the best, but to say that for me, personally, it is the one self-contained instrument that would get me closest to all the music I'd want to make. Though some samples are taken from the Spectrasonics sound libraries Symphony Of Voices, Vocal Planet, Hans Zimmer Guitars, Bizarre Guitar and Distorted Reality, the vast majority were specially created for Omnisphere. It's not going to be for everyone, and I'm cautious to recommend it as such. Plughugger has announced the release of a conceptual soundset focusing on atmospheric guitar sounds, based on the guitar samples in the Omnisphere Library. Im not saying that Omnisphere's choirs or guitars would beat a dedicated library (I already acknowledged it, earlier in the thread), but I posted a guitar patch play-through in response to your contention that Zebra has all this stuff covered, and the only thing you have to say is how cheesy a certain patch sounds, and how Omnisphere is just a rompler, then I'm not sure you have a genuine interest at all. The soundsources were developed using highly creative processing techniques with exotic gear like rare Buchla Modulars, Jean Michel Jarres EMS Synthi AKS, Hans Zimmers massive Modular Moog (including 1027 round robin Moog Drum samples) and even Eric Persings one-of-a-kind OMG-1. IF you've already got tons of dedicated libraries, why are you even looking to be persuaded by anything else?
